TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- Baltimore County Police have charged a hotel employee with attempted murder after they say he stabbed a co-worker in the head.

Officers were called to the Sheraton Hotel in Towson about 11:30 p.m. Saturday for a report of a stabbing. Police say two hotel employees got into a fight in an elevator at the facility and one stabbed the other with a pocket knife.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say 28-year-old Derrick Lamont Newman of Brooklyn was arrested after a brief foot chase. He is being held without bail.
