LIBERTYTOWN, Md. -- Maryland state police say a Pennsylvania man driving on a revoked license caused a crash that injured himself and two others while trying to elude officers.
Police also say the man tried to run down a Frederick County sheriff's deputy and sideswiped a state trooper.
The crash occurred shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday in Libertytown. Police say the 27-year-old man struck a car with his pickup truck. The man was seriously injured and was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. Two people in the car suffered minor injuries.
Police say the man started trying to elude capture about a half-hour earlier after being stopped by a Taneytown police officer for expired tags. Police did not pursue the man but tracked him with a helicopter and deployed stop sticks.
