Allegany board asks for enhanced school security

CUMBERLAND, Md. -- The Allegany County Board of Education is asking for $500,000 for enhanced school security.
The board approved its 2014 budget on Tuesday with the condition that the money be requested from the county.
The Cumberland Times-News reports (http://bit.ly/YshSAk) that the board wants to add five resource officers and two mental health professionals. Currently, there are four resource officers.
The Allegany County Commission must now decide on the request.
