Editor's note/update: A woman who says she is the fiancee of the man who jumped into the Harbor tells WTOP the officers did not jump in, but threw a buoy to her fiance.
However, police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says the pair did jump into the Harbor.
"They came to headquarters and they were soaking wet," he says.
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Baltimore police say two officers jumped into the Inner Harbor to rescue two people.
It happened about 2 p.m. Tuesday. Police say a woman went into the water and was in distress. Authorities say a man jumped in to help and he, too, became distressed.
Officers Larry Tucker and Anthony Magwood, who are assigned to the Inner Harbor, jumped in and pulled both from the water.
