BALTIMORE (AP) -- A Baltimore attorney has filed an anonymous class action suit on behalf of patients of a gynecologist police say secretly recorded exams and then killed himself after the recordings were discovered.
Attorney Jonathan Schochor says the suit was filed Friday in Baltimore Circuit Court. The suit was filed on behalf of an unnamed Baltimore patient of Dr. Nikita Levy. The filing says the patient is not being named because of the sensitive nature of the conduct. The suit says the patient is one of about 1,100 former patients of Levy.
Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Community Physicians, which operates a clinic where Levy worked, are named as defendants. The suit includes allegations of negligent hiring and supervision by the hospital and physician's group and seeks $70 million in damages.
