HAGERSTOWN, Md. - A snow forecast is prompting early school closures and safety warnings for Maryland drivers.

Frostburg State University says it's canceling all classes and activities at 1 p.m. Friday. Public schools in many counties are also closing early.

The AAA Mid-Atlantic is urging motorists to slow down and use caution during their evening commute.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for most of Maryland. It says up to three inches of snow could fall Friday afternoon and evening. A winter storm watch is in effect for Garrett County, where three inches of snow are forecasted Friday followed by up to four more inches overnight.
