TOWSON, Md. - Baltimore County police say a man who struggled with a police officer in a hospital, causing a discharge of her weapon, will be charged with attempted murder.
Officers say 30-year-old Brian Dargan of no fixed address is in custody and undergoing medical treatment. Police have obtained a warrant charging him with attempted murder, which will be served upon his release from treatment.
Police say on Wednesday, Dargan, who had been arrested on burglary charges, with in the emergency room at St. Joseph Medical Center, struggled with the officer accompanying him. Authorities say Dargan, who was handcuffed to a gurney, tried to get the officer's weapon, which discharged.
Police say the officer was grazed on the leg, but did not require treatment.
Officials say Dargan was subdued by other officers.
