Daily Record executive editor to retire

BALTIMORE (AP) - The Daily Record reports that executive editor and vice president Tom Linthicum is set to retire.
According to a story posted on the newspaper's website, the 64-year-old Linthicum will retire at year's end. He became executive editor in 2006, and was named vice president a year later.
The Daily Record ( http://bit.ly/RdUTWw) reports that next year, Linthicum and his wife, Dorothy, will teach at the College of the Transfiguration in Grahamstown, South Africa.
Linthicum began his journalism career in 1970 as a reporter with The Atlanta Constitution. He was a reporter, editor and business executive at The Baltimore Sun from 1974 to 2001, when he left to start a media consulting firm.
Daily Record Publisher Suzanne Fischer-Huettner says a national search is under way for a successor to Linthicum.
