BALTIMORE - A guidance counselor who disarmed a student gunman at a Maryland high school, preventing further violence, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Baltimore Orioles' game.
Perry Hall High School guidance counselor Jesse Wasmer will throw out the first pitch of Sunday's game, the first game of the American League divisional series. Wasmer will be accompanied by Daniel Borowy, the one student who was wounded in the shooting in the Perry Hall High School cafeteria on Aug. 27.
The Orioles are facing the New York Yankees. The best-of-five series begins Sunday night.
