Police say officer kills suspect after stabbing

WASHINGTON - Metropolitan Police say an officer has fatally shot a man who stabbed him repeatedly.
It happened about 6:45 a.m. Friday in northeast. Police were called for a domestic assault. Authorities say while an officer was conducting an interview, a man attacked the officer from behind and stabbed him several times in the head and neck with a knife.
Police say the officer turned and shot the man, identified as 28-year-old Justin Lionel Turner. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The officer was treated and released at a local hospital. The incident is under investigation.
