ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) - U.S. News & World Report has ranked the U.S. Naval Academy as the best public liberal arts college in the country for the second consecutive year.
The Annapolis school and its rival, the U.S. Military Academy, shared the top spot last year. This year, the military academy took the No. 2 spot.
Meanwhile, St. Mary's College of Maryland came in at No. 5 on the same list, sharing the spot with New College of Florida in Sarasota, Fla.
Among all liberal arts colleges in the country, the Naval Academy came in at No. 14.
The rankings released Wednesday are based on a range of indicators, including a school's academic reputation, student performance and financial resources.
