Ex-Montgomery chamber CEO fined for embezzling

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. - A former president and CEO convicted of embezzling from the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce must repay more than $10,000 taken from the organization.
Shane Adams also has to pay a $7,500 fine.
The Roanoke Times ( http://bit.ly/SwdZs1) reports that the 48-year-old Adams was sentenced Wednesday in Montgomery County Circuit Court.
A jury found Adams guilty on three counts of embezzlement in May.
Adams was accused of taking money from the chamber and its tourism fund. He was fired in June 2009.
He denied the charges during Wednesday's hearing.
