WASHINGTON — D.C.-area drivers should brace for icy conditions on roads, ramps, bridges and overpasses Tuesday morning.

A developing coastal low pressure to the southeast brings wet, raw and icy conditions Tuesday, says ABC7 Meteorologist Brian van de Graaff.

Temperatures are hovering around freezing Tuesday morning and there has been a light wintry mix with rain, freezing rain and some snow in the higher elevations.

A light glazing of ice is possible west of Interstate 95 through the Tuesday morning rush hour — especially of concern are elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses, van de Graaff says.

Other problem areas include the I-495 express ramps at Route 7, and parts of I-70 and I-270.
