3 teens arrested in Md. gang-related murder

WASHINGTON — Three teenagers were charged in connection with a murder in
Clinton, Maryland, Thursday.

Israel Salvador Alas, 17, was found dead on the 8300 block of Woodyard Road
around 1 p.m. Wednesday having suffered “trauma to his upper body,” according to
a Prince George’s County news release.

Alas was a student at Crossland High School, the release states.

Three teenagers were arrested in connection with the crime on Thursday. They
are 15-year-old Blas Rosales-Cordona, 16-year-old Marco Matute and 16-year-old Ever Lopez. All three are from Temple Hills, the release states.

Police say an investigation found the suspects stabbed Alas believing he was
involved with a rival gang. However, police say there is no evidence Alas was
involved with a gang.

All three were charged with first degree murder and will be tried as adults.
