Woman hospitalized after fire in Hanover

WASHINGTON — A woman is in a local hospital with life threatening injuries after
a two-alarm fire in Hanover, Maryland.

Just after 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Anne Arundel County emergency workers received
calls of a house fire along the 7600 block of Post Road.

When firefighters arrived, there was heavy smoke billowing from the windows of a
one-story, single family home. An unconscious woman in her 70s was found inside.
She was taken to the Baltimore Washington Medical Center with critical injuries.

In addition to the woman, an 82-year-old man and a firefighter were taken to the
hospital for minor injuries.

The fire was extinguished in 45 minutes, according to a press release. The cause
of the blaze is being
investigated.
