Weekend work to affect all Metro lines

WASHINGTON (AP) — Metro says trains five of the system’s six lines will run every 16 minutes throughout the weekend to accommodate track work.

Metro says that beginning Friday at 10 p.m. and continuing through Sunday, trains on the orange, silver, blue, yellow and green lines will run every 16 minutes. Normal service is every 12 minutes.

In addition, Metro says that on the red line, buses will replace trains between the Rhode Island Ave. and Silver Spring stations on Saturday and Sunday. The Brookland and Takoma stations will be closed along with the red line platform at the Fort Totten station. Trains between Shady Grove and Rhode Island Ave. and Silver Spring and Glenmont will run every 10 minutes from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and at regular intervals at other times.
