Consignment store owner accused of burglaries in 3 Va. localities

LYNCHBURG, Va. (AP) — The owner of a consignment store in Lynchburg is accused of burglarizing multiple homes in three localities.

Media outlets report that 38-year-old Katie Carico Hyatt faces breaking and entering and grand larceny charges in Appomattox and Campbell counties, and in Lynchburg. She also is charged in Campbell County with one count of petit larceny.

The charges stem from two burglaries in Appomattox County, five in Campbell County and four in Lynchburg.

Lynchburg police arrested Hyatt in September. She is being held without bond at the Lynchburg Adult Detention Center.
