Redskins’ Hall hurts Achilles tendon

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Washington Redskins lost two members of their secondary on Sunday, cornerback DeAngelo Hall and safety Duke Ihenacho, with Hall’s injury appearing the most serious.

Hall went down in the third quarter without being touched during a pass play and grabbed his left leg. He was helped to the sideline without putting pressure on his leg and the Redskins announced it was an Achilles tendon injury.

“We’re going to get it checked out (Monday),” coach Jay Gruden said after a 37-34 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Ihenacho hurt his foot in the first quarter and did not return.

Linebacker Brian Orakpo left with an injured finger in the third but came back. Guard Shawn Lauvao went out with a knee problem.

“He’ll be OK,” Gruden said of Orakpo, whom he expects will play Thursday night at home against the Giants. “Lauvao has knee swelling. He’ll be day to day as far as the Giants game.”

Gruden added that linebacker Keenan Robinson hurt a shoulder, but expected him to be available Thursday. Defensive end Jason Hatcher hurt his hamstring, which Gruden said “looks mild.”

For the Eagles, center Jason Kelce left in the third quarter with an abdominal injury and did not return.

Earlier, both teams’ top running backs were temporarily sidelined, but Washington’s Alfred Morris and Philadelphia’s LeSean McCoy returned. Morris has a knee issue, while McCoy took a hard helmet hit and was examined under the NFL’s concussion protocol.
