Search for missing toddlers intensifies

WASHINGTON – Two toddlers in Montgomery County have been missing for nearly two weeks, but a search effort is only growing stronger with time.

“I need to find my kids,” says Troy Turner.

To him, nothing else matters.

Turner’s 3-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son have been missing since Sept. 7. The following day, the mother of the toddlers, Catherine Hoggle, disappeared until she was picked up by police on Sept. 12.

Hoggle is mentally ill, and she refuses to say where the children are.

Montgomery County police fear the worst, but despite that, Turner has not given up hope.

“We’re believing that the kids are alive, believing in ourselves and we’re going to go find them,” he says.

This weekend, volunteers are planning a renewed effort.

“We’re still out here and we’re still looking,” says volunteer Glen Gehrke.

On Saturday and Sunday, around 9 a.m., groups of people will gather at Seneca Valley High School. They will spread out and comb through neighborhoods.

Volunteers are asking the public for help and are hoping for a massive turnout.

“As we form large groups, we’ll designate leaders and they can cover each section of a grid,” explains Gehrke.

In the meantime, those involved in the search continue to ask for donations of money and time.
