Bethesda Row Arts Festival returns in October

2012 Bethesda Row Arts Festival

One of Bethesda’s biggest annual street festivals will return next month with nearly 200 artists from across the country.

The Bethesda Row Arts Festival, which features artists and crafters of many types, is set for Saturday, Oct. 18 and Sunday, Oct. 19 on Woodmont Avenue, Bethesda Avenue and Elm Street.

Food vendors and musicians will also take part. The streets will be shut down as ceramic artists, painters, glass makers, graphic designers, photographers and more set up booths with works for sale.

It’s also a juried competition between artists in 14 different categories.

The event is free and set for 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Oct. 18 and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Oct. 19, rain or shine.

Festival artists will donate a proceed of their sales to the NIH Children’s Charities and small donations from the artists also allow for NIH to present children’s art activities at the event.
