Names released in suspected Va. murder-suicide

VERONA, Va. (AP) — Police have released the names of two people in a suspected murder-suicide in Verona.

The News Leader (http://bit.ly/1mJUnPw) reports the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office identified them Monday as 57-year-old Roger Vincent Giggey Jr., and 56-year-old Diane Marie Napoleone. Both died of gunshot wounds to the head.

Sheriff Randy Fisher has said investigators believe Napoleone died as early as Aug. 17 and Giggey died Aug. 19.

Fisher says Napoleone’s 25-year- old son called police Thursday and reported hearing gunshots two days earlier. He says the son has mental issues and didn’t investigate the gunshots.

The sheriff says the son isn’t a suspect.
