WASHINGTON — Two men have been arrested in the death of a man whose body was found wrapped in a carpet in Manassas on Sunday.

The Manassas City police identified the victim as Cesar Contreras, 26, of Manassas, and say that the medical examiner has ruled his death a homicide. His body was found on Sunday morning near a dumpster at the Colonial Village Apartments, on Nicol Lane.

On Wednesday, police announced that they had arrested two men in Contreras’s death — Ludwig Mena Romero, 20, of Manassas; and Jose Ramirez Lopez, 18, of D.C. — and are looking for four more men:

  • Juan Guevara, 24, of no fixed address;
  • Mario Portillo, 25, of no fixed address;
  • Argenes Sandoval, 22, of Manassas;
  • and an unidentified 17-year-old from Randallstown, Maryland.

Police say that the killing may have been gang-related. If you have any information about the case, they ask you to call the Investigative Services Division at 703-257-8092 or Crime Solvers. Manassas City Crime Solvers will pay a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest; their 24/7 tip line is at 703-330-0330. You don’t have to give your name.
