Va. attorney sentenced for embezzling from client

FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) — A northern Virginia attorney has been sentenced to six years behind bars for embezzling from a client and her estate.

Attorney General Mark Herring said 67-year-old James Kincheloe Jr. of Fauquier County was sentenced in Fairfax County Circuit Court on Thursday. Kincheloe had previously pleaded guilty to the charges.

The judge in the case determined that Kincheloe stole nearly $484,000 from his 90-year old client and her estate over about three years.

Kincehloe also previously pleaded guilty to three misdemeanor counts of failure to file state income tax returns and is currently serving a six-month sentence.
