WASHINGTON -- A tour bus driver hired to take families to Kings Dominion spent part of the trip fooling around with an iPad that was propped up on his steering wheel.
Last Sunday, more than 50 local families were on a American Bus & Limousine Service shuttle transporting them to Kings Dominion in Doswell, Virginia, when they noticed the driver using an iPad while behind the wheel, according to ABC7.
A passenger caught the driver, whose name has not yet been released, on camera using the device.
This isn't the first mark on the company's record.
American Bus & Limousine Service has two fatal crashes on it's record, according to ABC7. The company has been prioritized for intervention because of unsafe driving issues, and has a serious violation for failing to do random drug and alcohol screenings, ABC7 reports.
And it turns out the troubled shuttle company not only has a bad record -- it's under contract to work for a federal agency. America Transportation Service has a five-year contract with the General Services Administration.
American Bus & Limousine Service wouldn't comment on the video, according to ABC7.
The GSA issued a response to ABC7.
"America Transportation Service (ATS) currently has a GSA Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) Contract. As a matter of contract administration, GSA will investigate the allegations, check past performance, determine compliance with the contract and take appropriate action if necessary. There are no compliance issues on file for ATS and the company has a 95% positive rating in the government-wide past- performance database."
