Frederick, Md., mayor touts city’s gains

FREDERICK, Md. (AP) — Frederick Mayor Randy McClement is highlighting transportation and development in his annual State of the City address.

McClement is making his speech Monday night with the city’s downtown MARC station as a backdrop. The station is at one end of a bicycle route his administration is developing to encourage rail commuters to pedal to the train stop.

The station sits along an unfinished section of the Carroll Creek Linear Park that McClement also hopes to see developed during his second term.

The Republican mayor was re-elected last year to serve another four years.
