WASHINGTON -- A Metrobus driver was sent to the hospital Monday after being slashed in the face by a rider in D.C.
The bus was stopped at Albemarle and 40th Streets NW in Tenleytown -- soon after 1 p.m. this afternoon.
Police say the driver was treated at the hospital but is expected to recover.
According to NBC4, the driver and the suspect had gotten into a dispute over the fare. The suspect, who was later apprehended by police, hit the driver in the head, then stabbed his face.
The NBC4 report said another driver saw the attack, and flagged down police. The suspect is described as a 65-year-old man. He's been charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
