GAITHERSBURG, Md. (AP) — Montgomery County police say they have a suspect in custody following a stabbing in Gaithersburg.
The stabbing occurred early Friday morning. Police say a 22-year-old Gaithersburg man was stabbed several times in the parking lot of a residential community and was taken to a trauma center in grave condition.
Police say they identified a suspect, who’s 24 years old and also from Gaithersburg, and took him into custody Friday morning.
Police say the suspect and the victim had agreed to meet at the location, where they fought before the suspect stabbed the victim.
Police say the man faces an attempted murder charge, and his and the victim’s names will be released once he’s formally charged.
