Man convicted of killing teen gets 41 years

WASHINGTON (AP) — A man has been sentenced to 41 years in prison for fatally shooting a teenager in a revenge killing.

Twenty-two-year-old Joshua Andrews of Washington had been convicted of first-degree premeditated murder while armed in the slaying of 17-year-old Durand Lucas. Andrews was sentenced Tuesday in D.C. Superior Court.

Prosecutors say in June 2010, Andrews, who believed Lucas had shot at him in an earlier incident, waited for Lucas outside a building in southeast.

Authorities say Andrews shot at Lucas as he left the building, hitting him in the leg. Prosecutors say Andrews and another man stood over Lucas and shot him 15 more times.
