BALTIMORE (AP) -- A three-way race for the Democratic nomination for Maryland attorney general is shaping up as a close contest between state Del. Jon Cardin of Baltimore County and state Sen. Brian Frosh of Montgomery County.

The winner Tuesday faces Republican Jeffrey Pritzker and Libertarian Leo Wayne Dymowski in November. They are unchallenged in the primary.

Frosh has been endorsed by Gov. Martin O'Malley for a legislative record that includes leadership on gun control.

But Cardin's name may be more familiar to voters. He's the nephew of Democratic U.S. Sen. Ben Cardin of Maryland.

Some voters Tuesday said Cardin's name was a factor in their decision to vote for him. His campaign focused on computer security and privacy concerns.

Delegate Aisha Braveboy of Prince George's County is also in the race.
