Big trouble in Little Washington

WASHINGTON — Some of the 135 residents of Washington, Virginia, were not happy when they opened The Washington Post June 6 and learned a D.C. developer had plans to “remake” their town.

That’s what Carol Ross Joynt, editor-at-large of Washingtonian Magazine, told WTOP on Tuesday.

“They feel left out of the equation,” she said.

The tiny Rappahannock County town, known for its renowned restaurant The Inn at Little Washington, likes their town the way it is, Joynt says.

On Thursday, the Rappahannock News will host a community forum to discuss community development at 5 p.m. at the Little Theatre in Washington.
