Va. couple convicted of abusel face new charges

GLOUCESTER, Va. (AP) — A Virginia couple convicted of keeping their 6-year-old daughter in a makeshift cage face new charges stemming from the death of another child.

The Gloucester County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office told media outlets Wednesday that a grand jury indicted both Brian Gore and Shannon Gore on felony homicide and child neglect charges.

The office says the charges resulted from additional information authorities received about the remains of a child found buried under a shed at the couple’s home.

Brian Gore and Shannon Gore are each serving 10 years in prison for child abuse and 20 years for malicious wounding in connection with the earlier case. Deputies investigating a burglary report in 2011 found the couple’s daughter in a crib that was turned upside down and weighted.
