Clayburn to close Maryland manufacturing plant

GRANTSVILLE, Md. (AP) — Clayburn Inc. is closing its manufacturing plant in Grantsville.

The Cumberland Times-News (http://bit.ly/1weaewJ ) reports the company announced the plant closure late Friday. Grantsville Mayor Paul Edward said there were about 75 people working at the plant, which manufactures products used in the steel foundry and architectural brick industries.

Clayburn Director David Lane said in a statement that the plant will continue to operate to complete inventory preparation and ship products. That work should be completed at the end of June. The company will sell its equipment, machines, tools, dies and inventory to Pittsburgh-based Resco Products Inc.
