RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Virginia's legal community raised the equivalent of more than 1.4 million pounds of food during a two-week food drive.

Attorney General Mark Herring announced results of the annual Statewide Legal Food Frenzy on Wednesday. He says the program has now raised more than 11.4 million pounds of food over eight years.

Law firms, legal departments, government offices and law schools across the state compete in the annual contest to see who can collect the most food and money for local food banks.

For the fourth consecutive year, the B. Cullen Gibson firm in Norfolk took first place. The firm raised 20,360 pounds of food per person.
