Driver killed when truck goes over bridge on I-95

ARBUTUS, Md. (AP) — Maryland State Police say a truck driver was killed when the vehicle went over a bridge on Interstate 95 and landed in a park below.

Troopers say the Ford truck was towing a trailer about 11:30 a.m. Monday south on I-95 near the Patapsco River Bridge in Arbutus. Police say the truck and the trailer became detached.

Officers say the truck hit the bridge and went over, landed in the park and was engulfed in flames.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for identification and autopsy.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
