VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) -- A historic Virginia Beach hotel's furnishings, art, fixtures and other contents are being liquidated.
Media outlets report that a public sale of the Cavalier Hotel's contents begins Thursday.
The hotel dates to 1927 and is the last of the pre-World War II beachfront hotels in the city. The Virginia Department of Historic Resources recently added the hotel to the Virginia Landmarks Register.
Cavalier Associates LLC bought the hotel in 2013 and closed it for renovation.
