Rounding third: The cost of a marriage proposal at MLB stadiums

Awww. You want to give a baseball diamond! You really want to pop the question to your significant other in a flashy way. Say, at a Major League Baseball stadium. On the scoreboard. In front of hundreds of fans, the team’s mascot, the players and the vendors.

It’s gonna cost you. And not just in terms of a new old ball and chain.

Yeah, we didn’t know those video proposals or flashy messages on the giant stadium scoreboards cost the couple (or one of them, at least) real money (duh). But it does. And the cost may surprise you. (Of course, you could  pull a Kanye West and rent an entire stadium and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for your wedding proposal).

The Web site Swimmigly.com, which is all about love, made a few phone calls to the Major League Baseball stadiums. In light of the first week of the 2014 baseball season, we put together a slideshow featuring the teams, their fields,  the costs to make your proposal— and in some cases, where you won’t be allowed to do that.

Will you like it? I do.
