WASHINGTON — There is a $10,000 reward for a man who shot a Spotsylvania Fasmart employee twice in the head during a robbery.

Kelly Wood, a Spotsylvania wife and mother of three was shot twice in the head early March 8 at Fas Mart in Spotsylvania, on Brock Road near Route 3, where she works. She was seriously wounded, but is recovering.

The man is described as Caucasian, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall with a reddish brown beard or goatee that’s about 2 inches long. The beard may have white or gray highlights.

The man wore a black hoody and khaki style pants and black gloves. He asked the victim for a tin of a Grizzly brand smokeless tobacco.

While Wood is grateful to be alive, she told NBC12 in Richmond that she wants “this guy to be put in jail.”

“I heard a big bang. I panicked a little. And he shot me again,” Woods told NBC12.

Capt. Jeff Pearce with the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office says the gunman didn’t take any cash, but did take a display case containing different cold products and ephedrine products.

Store surveillance captured the crime and police are hoping to catch who did this. Pearce says the office is following up on the hundreds of leads by citizens and other law enforcement. But so far, there’s no suspect.

Anyone with information is being urged to call Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office at 540-582-7115 or Text a tip with SEE911 to CRIMES (274637).

Meanwhile, Fas Mart and the community are coming together with fundraising efforts to help the family especially since Wood’s husband is out of work.

Sherry McGregor, Fas Mart district manager for the Fredericksburg area, says jars placed at 13 Fas Mart stores in the area have raised $5,000.
