Stabbing shuts down DC metro station

WASHINGTON –District of Columbia police and Metro officials reported that a man had been stabbed several times in the back inside the Stadium Armory Station late Friday night.

The adult male, 19, who was not identified, was conscious and breathing when he was transported to the hospital. Officials say the incident stemmed from a fight on an inbound blue line train and spilled out onto the train platform, around 11:20 p.m.

One other person — a juvenile male – was reported with a stab wound to the hand. Police say they are questioning several people and the station will remain closed for the rest of the night. Station should re-open at 7 a.m. Saturday.
