Winter Weather Advisory set for Friday morning

WASHINGTON — A winter weather advisory goes into effect at 6 a.m. Friday for the entire D.C. metro area, and a small amount of rain, sleet or snow could fall through the early morning.

ABC7’s chief meteorologist Doug Hill says we won’t get a lot of precipitation, but just enough to make the morning commute slippery.

“It could be a little sleet, a little snow, a little freezing rain or drizzle – you don’t need much of it, and I don’t think we’re going to get much of it. But just a small amount of it falling on dry, cold pavement at the start of the rush hour, could cause some slippery spots.”

The advisory lasts until 2 p.m.
