CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) -- The Virginia Associated Press Broadcasters annual meeting will be held Saturday, April 5, in Charlottesville.
The general membership meeting will follow The Virginias AP Broadcasters Awards Luncheon at 3 p.m. at The Boar's Head Inn, Ednam Hall, 200 Ednam Dr., Charlottesville, Va. 22903.
Any owner, manager or news director of, or newscaster or newsperson for, a broadcast member of The Associated Press in Virginia is eligible for membership in this association. A broadcast organization may have more than one member of the association, but only one representative from each broadcast organization shall vote at association meetings.
All four regional seats on the VAPB board of directors will be up for election this year: Central/Southside, Tidewater/Northern Neck, Northern Virginia/Shenandoah Valley and Southwest. Each director will be elected for a two-year term by a simple majority of stations represented at the general membership meeting. The terms run biennially from annual meeting to annual meeting.
Nominees for the regional representatives on the board may be submitted to Heidi Brown by March 23.
If a member station is unable to have a representative at the meeting on April 5, the station may choose to vote by mail or e-mail. The member must request a ballot by March 23 and return it to Heidi Brown within seven days.
