Man who sexually assaulted elderly woman still on the loose

WASHINGTON –Police in Prince George’s County, MD., are still looking for the man who sexually assaulted an elderly woman inside her Riverdale home on Friday.

Officials said they were scouring the neighborhood and handing out fliers in hopes of finding clues, but as of early Saturday, they had no new information to report.

Police say that at 9:40 p.m. on Friday, patrol officers were called to the 6100 block of 63rd Avenue for the report of a sexual assault. When they arrived, they learned the female victim who they described as elderly, had just been sexually assaulted by a man who broke into her home.

The victim told police she heard someone in her house and when she went to check on the noise, the suspect grabbed and sexually assaulted her. He then ran from the home.

She described her assailant as Hispanic, or Pacific Islander, with dark curly hair, about 20-years-old, 150-pounds, and 5-foot two-inches in height.

County police Chief Mark Magaw calls the crime “egregious,” and says detectives are determined to find and arrest the responsible person.

Julie Parker, police spokeswoman, urged anyone who saw anything to pick up the phone. “If anyone notice anything unusual, at around 9:40 last night, if they could give us a call, it might not seem like a big deal to them but that little bit of information could be just what our detectives need.”
