WASHINGTON — D.C.’s popular Ben’s Chili Bowl is just one new option set to open in the coming months for hungry air travelers.

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Dulles International Airport will have new restaurant and retail offerings as part of the first phase of an expansion and makeover plan. The additions are expected to open in the spring around April or May.

“It’s going to be a mix at both airports of behind security and pre-security,” says Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Media Relations Manager Chris Paolino.

The makeover will bring Ben’s Chili Bowl to Reagan National, along with American Tap Room, Legal Sea Foods and Pinkberry. The location will be the first airport franchise for Ben’s Chili Bowl.

New retailers for Reagan National include Brighton Collectibles, Lacoste, Spanx and Vineyard Vines.

Dulles International will welcome French restaurant Bistro Atelier, Au Bon Pain and Luv’n Berry, a frozen yogurt store. Tumi and Swarovski will join the list of retailers at Dulles.

The longterm project also will include more charging stations and an improved wireless Internet network.
