Police investigate death of 3-month-old boy

WASHINGTON — The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office in Maryland is investigating the death of a baby boy.

The 3-month-old died at 8 a.m. Monday at Children’s National Medical Center. He was flown there from Frederick Memorial Hospital Sunday after he was found unresponsive.

The boy’s father called 911 from their home in Jefferson, Md., Sunday. The Frederick News-Post reports there were no visible injuries to the boy when police arrived, according to Sgt. Jennifer Bailey, spokeswoman for the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.

Bailey said no charges have been filed, according to the News-Post.

The boy’s name was not released.

The boy’s body will be taken to the D.C. Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy and to determine the cause of death.
