VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) -- Virginia Beach has recorded its third fire fatality since Jan. 1.
The Virginia Beach Fire Department says the latest victim was an 83-year-old woman who accidentally set herself on fire.
The fire department says the woman suffered burns on 35 percent of her body. She died less than 24 hours after the fire occurred Friday night.
Fire investigators believe the woman accidentally set her clothes on fire with smoking materials and couldn't extinguish the flames.
