Ripple chef prepares new restaurant at former Reef location

WASHINGTON – Chef Marjorie Meek-Bradley of Cleveland Park’s Ripple is opening a second restaurant in Adams Morgan at 2446 18th St. NW, the former location of the popular bar, The Reef.

The restaurant will be called Roofers Union and will feature house-made sausages, entrees and bar snacks. The bar program will be run by Josh Fatemi, formerly of Bourbon, Pearl Dive and Black Jack.

Roofers Union is slated to open at the end of January. However, diners can preview menu items Jan. 22 and 23 at Ripple for a $25 prix fixe flight.

The Reef closed in August 2013 after a man was stabbed at the bar. Prior to the stabbing, The Washington Post reported the bar’s liquor license was also suspended.
