MCHENRY, Md. (AP) -- A winter storm is bringing a white Christmas to far western Maryland.

The Wisp ski resort in McHenry reports that 4 inches of new snow fell Tuesday.

The storm prompted Maryland State Police to declare a snow emergency in Garrett County from shortly before noon to 4 p.m. No major accidents have been reported.

Snow flurries were seen as far east as Hagerstown with no accumulation.
