MIDDLE RIVER, Md. (AP) -- Baltimore County Police say a Delaware man was struck and killed by an Amtrak train in Middle River.
Officers were called to the tracks about 11:15 a.m. Tuesday. Police say the train engineer and other witnesses reported that 55-year-old Kenneth Joseph Grabenstein was standing in the middle of the tracks, facing the train as it approached.
Police say the train was traveling about 135 mph and the engineer was unable to stop it.
Grabenstein was pronounced dead the scene. Police do not know what town in Delaware he was from.
