ALBION, Mich. (AP) -- Alboin College says former NAACP leader and civil rights pioneer Julian Bond will speak at its Martin Luther King Jr. observance next month.
The school says Bond will be the featured speaker Jan. 30 at the MLK Convocation and Community Celebration.
The 73-year-old Bond was a King associate who served in the Georgia's House and Senate and as chairman of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People in 1998-2010.
Bond also helped found the Southern Poverty Law Center and is an emeritus professor of history at the University of Virginia.
