WASHINGTON – The alleged victim of a D.C. police officer accused of producing child pornography will have a tough road on the way to justice, according to her attorney.
“There is a certain dissatisfaction associated with that person not being around to answer for what they’ve done and there’s no way you can fix that,” says Scott Lucas, a lawyer with the Cochran Firm.
“You want the person who victimized you to take responsibility for what they did,” he says.
Lucas represents a 15-year-old girl who claims officer Marc Washington took nude photos of her.
Washington was released from jail this week. Shortly after, police pulled him out of the water near Hains Point in Southwest D.C. in serious condition. He later died at the hospital.
His death is still under investigation.
“I do not believe he should have been released,” Lucas says. “I thought he was a danger to the community.”
Lucas is now working on a civil lawsuit against the estate of Marc Washington and D.C.
