Police release images of robbers wanted for Bethesda home invasion

WASHINGTON – Montgomery County police are still looking for two men who committed a home invasion robbery in Bethesda last month. But now they have a new tool in their investigation: video surveillance tape of the two men they believe committed the crime.

The robbery happened on Nov. 25, a Monday afternoon. A woman was at the door of her Farnham Drive home when two men approached her and pushed past her into the house. They then held the woman, her husband and the couple’s small child at gunpoint. They stole the family’s car, a gold Cadillac Escalade, which was recovered later.

No one was hurt. But police are looking for the men and say the video, taken at a nearby office building, has clear images of the pair. They’re hoping someone will recognize the two men and call police.

Police describe one of the robbers as a black man in his 20′s. He is about 5-foot10, weighs about 200 pounds, and wore a black ski mask and dark baggy clothing

The second robber is described as a black man, also in his 20′s. He is about 6-foot-2, weighs about 190 pounds, has a thin build, dreadlocks and wore dark clothing, a wool hat and a blue and white scarf. He was armed with a handgun

Anyone with information about this case or who can help identify the robbers is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070 or call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).
